Prenzlauer Berg Mauerpark
Mauerpark runs along the former death strip of the Berlin Wall, between Prenzlauer Berg and Wedding. On Sundays the whole city seems to come here for the flea market and the open-air karaoke in the amphitheatre, and a surviving section of the inner Wall doubles as a legal graffiti wall.
The park holds three mapped basketball courts, including a two-hoop full court on its western side. With 25,132 Google reviews, it is one of the most visited parks in Berlin, so the courts rarely sit empty.
Come on a Sunday for the atmosphere, or a weekday evening if you want a game without the crowd.

Prenzlauer Berg ALBA Streetball Centre at Jahn-Sportpark
ALBA Berlin, the city's leading basketball club, opened this streetball centre in the Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark on 21 June 2018 and still runs and maintains it. There are three full courts with six height-adjustable hoops on a rubber surface, and the main court has a roof and floodlights, so it stays playable in the rain and after dark.
It is free and open to everyone, with coached sessions and open play side by side. The entrance is in the southeast of the sports park at Topsstraße, next to ALBA's office. At opening ALBA listed hours of 4pm to 10pm on weekdays and 5:30pm to 8:30pm at weekends, so check before making a late trip.
Mauerpark is right next door, which makes this the best basketball afternoon in Berlin: start on the Wall strip, finish under the roof.

Neukölln Tempelhofer Feld Basketball Court (Northeast)
Tempelhof Airport handled the Berlin Airlift of 1948 and 1949 and closed in 2008. Its airfield opened as a public park in 2010, and in 2014 Berliners voted in a referendum to keep it free of development. The runways are still there, now full of cyclists, kite-surfers, and picnickers.
This court sits on the northeast side of the field near the Columbiadamm entrance, on a mapped court within a metre of its listing, 49 reviews at a 4.5 average. A second court on the west side of the field gives you a backup when this one is busy. The sky is enormous and there is no shade, so bring water.

Mitte Monbijoupark Basketball Court
Monbijoupark sits on the Spree across the water from the Bode Museum and Museum Island, and its court is the most central run in the city. It is a simple street court, and one reviewer notes a slightly misaligned rim, but the setting makes up for it.

- Mitte runs on the Spree
- Busiest
- summer evenings
Kreuzberg Streetballplatz am Gleisdreieck
The streetball court in Park am Gleisdreieck sits between the skate park and the football pitch, in a park built on former railway freight yards. Players love the setting and are harsher on the hardware: at least one reviewer calls the rims really bad. Come for the park and the crowd, not the rims.
- Best for
- Kreuzberg streetball

- evenings, weekends
Oberschöneweide Mellowpark
Mellowpark is a youth action-sports park on the Spree in Köpenick, 1,137 reviews at a 4.6 average, with a mapped court on the grounds. Reviewers single out the waterside location and the energy of the people who run it.
