Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center
Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center at 1350 Tremont Street in Roxbury Crossing is home to Roxbury Community College's basketball, soccer, and track-and-field programs. Named for Reggie Lewis, the Boston Celtics captain who collapsed during a 1993 practice and died at 27 of cardiac arrhythmia.
The basketball facility is full indoor hardwood with glass backboards. Public access is available through memberships: roughly $80 for three months, $150 for six, $250 for twelve as of recent listings. The centre also hosts high school and AAU tournaments throughout the year.
The naming makes this a pilgrimage point for Boston basketball fans. Lewis was a Northeastern University alumnus and a beloved Celtic — the centre is the city's most permanent tribute.
