North Queen Anne Royal Brougham Pavilion
Royal Brougham Pavilion is Seattle Pacific University's home gym, and for most of the year it's a tidy college facility with a main court reviewers rate highly, 4.6 stars across its Google reviews.
Then summer arrives. The CrawsOver, Jamal Crawford's free pro-am league, runs here on summer weekends and has turned this modest Queen Anne gym into the most famous basketball address in the Pacific Northwest. LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, Dejounte Murray, and Paolo Banchero have all played CrawsOver games, and admission stays free.
We rank it first indoor on cultural weight. You can't just walk in for a pickup run like a rec center, but no other gym in Seattle, and few in the country, puts NBA superstars this close to the public for nothing.
- Best for
- pro-am spectating, tournament-grade hardwood
- Busiest
- CrawsOver Saturdays in summer
University District University of Washington Intramural Activities Building (IMA)
The University of Washington's Intramural Activities Building, the IMA to everyone who uses it, holds the deepest supply of indoor basketball in Seattle: multiple full hardwood courts in the back gyms, plus auxiliary hoops. 637 Google reviews, 4.5 average.
Access is the catch. Students get it with tuition, and the public route is UW alumni or affiliate memberships. If you qualify, the weekday evening runs during the school year are the most reliable competitive indoor basketball in the city.
Game style is fast and young. Expect former high-school players in every run and the occasional club-team athlete pushing the pace.
- Best for
- high-volume student runs
- Busiest
- weekday evenings in term
Dunlap Rainier Beach Community Center
Rainier Beach Community Center serves the neighbourhood that produced more NBA talent per block than anywhere else in the Northwest. Rainier Beach High School, a short walk away, sent Jamal Crawford, Nate Robinson, Doug Christie, and Dejounte Murray to the league, and the community center gym is where much of that pipeline started.
The building was rebuilt in 2013 and holds a full hardwood court, a pool, and Seattle Parks drop-in programming at resident-friendly prices. 298 Google reviews at a 4.4 average.
The after-school and evening runs carry the neighbourhood's standard. Kids here grow up with proof on the wall that the league is reachable, and the gym plays like it.
- Best for
- south-end community runs
- Busiest
- after school, weekday evenings

Central Business District Downtown Seattle YMCA
The Downtown Seattle YMCA carries the longest-running indoor pickup tradition in the city core, 349 Google reviews at a 4.3 average. The lunchtime run is the main event here, office workers and hospital staff cycling through five-on-five between meetings. Y membership includes the pool and fitness floors, and income-based pricing keeps the door open.

Meadowbrook Meadowbrook Community Center
Meadowbrook Community Center posts the best rating among Seattle's city-run gyms on this list, 4.6 stars across 248 reviews. Capitol Hill Miller Community Center
Miller Community Center on the east side of Capitol Hill runs a full indoor court with 215 Google reviews at a 4.4 average. It pairs naturally with the Cal Anderson outdoor scene a few blocks west: same neighbourhood crowd, roof included. Seattle Parks drop-in pricing keeps it among the cheapest indoor runs in the city.

Central District Garfield Community Center
Garfield Community Center sits beside Garfield High School in the Central District, the school that produced Brandon Roy and Tony Wroten and has stacked state titles for a century. 153 Google reviews at a 4.4 average. The community center gym carries the neighbourhood's basketball inheritance at Seattle Parks prices, and the after-school runs are where the next Garfield teams get their reps.
